About the Job:

We are looking for a Specialist QA Backend Engineer to join our team in Dubai, with strong expertise in API testing and automation. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain automated test scenarios for backend/API testing.

  • Develop API automation using Java and REST Assured and perform API testing using Postman.

  • Leverage AI-assisted tools for test case generation, automation, test data creation, defect analysis, and improving QA efficiency.

  • Participate in sprint planning and review requirements to ensure test coverage.

  • Create detailed and well-structured test plans and test cases.

  • Convert manual regression scenarios to automated test cases.

  • Validate API contracts, request/response payloads, authentication, authorization, and data integrity.

  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities during the SDLC.

  • Ensure automated tests are integrated and execute reliably in CI/CD environments.

  • Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, and non-functional testing, including API performance/load testing where required.

  • Work as a member of an Agile SCRUM team delivering high-quality software in two-week sprints.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and document issues thoroughly during bug tracking.

  • Review requirements and technical specifications to identify quality risks and ensure adequate test coverage.

  • Ability to think outside-the-box for reproducing and re-creating complex issues.

  • Ability to work independently and define QA activities within an Agile team.

  • Document software issues and assist development teams with clear and detailed steps to reproduce defects.

 

 

Profile Requirements: 

  • 4+ years of solid experience in Software Testing/QA, with strong backend/API testing experience.

  • Strong proficiency in Java and experience with REST Assured for API automation testing.

  • Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing.

  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON/XML, authentication, and API testing concepts.

  • Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience with performance/API load testing is a plus.

  • Knowledge of SQL/database validation, microservices, API security, or contract testing is a plus.

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development and testing tools for test generation, automation, test data, and defect analysis.

  • Strong knowledge of Software QA methodologies, testing types, tools, and processes.

  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with project tracking tools.

  • Travel and Tourism experience is a plus.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
