About the job:

The Category Manager will be responsible for the development and management of Almosafer’s business categories in the Consumer Travel BU. The role will focus on developing and executing category initiatives aligned with Almosafer’s business objectives and market trends including but not limited to promotions optimization, business planning, growth & expansion, cross-sell & up-sell, scaling of new markets, scaling of new sales channels, etc.

 

Responsibilities:

  • P&L Ownership: Monitor, understand, and analyze the assigned categories’ P&L health and drive corrective actions that align with broader business objectives.

  • Performance Analysis: Analyze category performance through sales data, customer funnel data, and market research to identify growth opportunities and areas for efficiency improvement.

  • Tactical Category Interventions: Ability to ideate and execute tactical sales interventions that can drive higher demand/margins according to business objectives.

  • Market Research: Conduct market and competitor analysis to stay ahead of trends, identifying new opportunities for category expansion and differentiation.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, finance, operations & sourcing teams to drive central business initiatives with category context.

  • Reporting and Insights: Prepare regular reports on category performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.

  • Business Planning: Monitor key market trends (including demand and supply indicators) to support business target setting & performance monitoring.

  • Growth & Expansion Focus: Lead Almosafer’s growth initiatives in new geographies & new sales channels, driving central ownership from the business team.

  • Category Strategy: Assist in creating the strategic view of retail and partnerships and lead the implementation through detailed follow-up action plans.

 

Profile requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in category management, business management, or a similar role within travel, e-commerce, or related industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (Advanced Excel, Tableau).
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to manage professional relationships.
  • Familiarity with omni-channel travel market dynamics, consumer behavior, and category management principles.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines, and willingness to learn through hands-on experience.
  • Experience with pricing & promotions is a plus.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.
